Mocs Coach Tom Arth Worked to Make Smooth Coaching Transition at UTC

Mocs football coach Tom Arth replaced former head coach Russ Huesman, who left the Mocs in December to take the Richmond job.
Arth admits it was a tough transition adding that no one wanted to see coach Huesman leave because of all the success he had at UTC.
Arth went to work right away getting to know the players.
He called every one of them since the team was not on campus for the Christmas holiday break.
Said receiver Alphonso Stewart:”Yeah, I almost didn’t answer it just because I wasn’t familiar with the number, but I’m glad I did. We had a nice little conversation that prepared me for the year. Just from that call alone, I knew it was going to be something different. Something that the team needed.”
Said Arth:”I think they’ve been through a lot. I think they have worked really hard. They’ve exceeded our expectations. I’m excited for them to be able to get out there and finally go play, and not worry about anything else.”
