Mocs Dancing in Des Moines

CHATTANOOGA—The long wait is over. The Chattanooga Mocs men’s basketball squad has its dance partner and ballroom location meeting the Indiana Hoosiers Thursday in Des Moines, Iowa. UTC has the No. 12 seed in East region, while the Hoosiers claim the five slot.

The last time the Mocs were in the NCAA Tournament was 2009 in Philadelphia. It is the 11th bid in 39 years as a Division I program, 16th overall.

This is the second time UTC drew a 12 seed. The other was in 1997 when the Mocs toppled Georgia and Illinois in the opening rounds to reach the Sweet 16 losing to Providence. The seed lines have run from nine to 16 over the 11 visits with 15 (1995/2005) and 16 (1988/2009) serving as the other duplicates.
