Mocs Finish 8th in Final FCS Coaches Poll

(GOMOCS.COM) North Dakota State University won its fifth consecutive Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) title over the weekend, capping off the 2015 season.  As a result, the final national polls were release today and the Chattanooga Mocs were in the top 10 in both for the second year in a row.

UTC ended the year at No. 8 in the FCS Coaches Poll and No. 9 in the STATS Top 25.  There are the two polls officially recognized by the NCAA.

The Mocs finished 9-4 overall and won a share of the Southern Conference title for the third year in a row with a 6-1 league mark.  Chattanooga also advanced to the second round of the FCS Playoffs for the second year in a row.

This is the third consecutive year UTC has earned a final national ranking.  The Mocs were No. 8 in both final listings last season and No. 25 in the Coaches Poll and No. 23 in the Sports Network Top 25 in 2013.

Prior to that, the last time UTC was ranked in a season-ending poll was 1984.  Chattanooga was No. 17 in the country that season, and following the 1982 campaign.
