Mocs Ponder Whether ETSU Game Has Reached Rivalry Status

The Mocs travel to Johnson City on Saturday night for a SoCon match-up with ETSU. UTC got a dirty and gritty 10-3 win over the Bucs last season. It felt like a rivalry game, but the Mocs players aren’t ready to deem it a rivalry just yet.

Said receiver Bingo Morton:”I had not idea it was a rivalry. I guess they call it that. It was just two good teams competing against each other trying to get better.”
Said defensive back C.J. Fritz:”I guess us being 4-0 we are going to get everybody’s best shot. If they want to make it a rivalry, I guess we will.” (laughter)
Said head coach Tom Arth:”Anytime you are playing a school it means a lot. A lot of these guys probably played against each other in high school at certain points or know of each other or from the same areas. So that does mean a lot. You add to it that it’s a conference game as well.”
