Mocs Quarterback Alejandro Bennifield Eligible to Play Again After Four Game Suspension

Chattanooga-(WDEF) When the Mocs host Western Carolina on Saturday, they’ll have quarterback Alejandro Bennifield in uniform for the first time this season.
Bennifield missed the Mocs first four games due to an NCAA academic suspension.
Bennifield was All SoCon last year, throwing 26 touchdown passes.
He admits it was tough watching the Mocs offense struggle before last week’s 63-point effort against VMI.
Said Bennifield:”Yeah I feel like it would be frustrating for anybody who couldn’t get into a game that they wanted to be a part of, whether they are injured or suspended or whatever the case may be. It would be pretty tough for anybody. That’s why I said I just had to stay positive and help the guys out and stay supportive.”
Reporter:”Is there just kind of that new bounce in your step with what lies ahead for this week?”
Said Bennifield:”Same bounce in my step. Still come out every day ready to practice. Ready to play. Just ready to come out here and put some work in and get ready for this game.”
Head coach Tom Arth said on Tuesday he’s not sure if Bennifield will play Saturday against the Catamounts. Kickoff is at 6pm at Finley Stadium.
