Mocs Roll To 51-0 Win Over WCU, Alone On Top Of SoCon

This SoCon Showdown was over when the Mocs trotted on the field. Already up 7-0 in the first quarter, Keon Williams goes 39-yards for a touchdown to make it 14-0.
Keon rushed for a buck-94. The Mocs rushed for 386.
"They had holes all day out there for me. They opened them up, and I just hit them."
"Our backs are hard to tackle man. Do you want to tackle them? Anybody out there in TV Land want to tackle them?," said Mocs head coach Russ Huesman.
Before the Catamounts could catch their breath to start the second quarter, Jacob Huesman hit Taharin Tyson, who goes 51-yards for a touchdown.
Another long Keon run put the Mocs at the 21, and on the next play, Huesman hit Tommy Hudson for a touchdown to make it 28-0.
"There was definitely that mind set of coming in and proving to the league that we want to be the top dog."
"Came out with a little chip on our shoulder to prove that we really are the best team in the SoCon, and I think it just traveled across the whole team."
Did it ever. The Mocs defense allowed just one third down conversion today, and they held the Catamounts to 102 total yards of offense.
"That’s the way we should play defense there." During warm-ups, Catamounts quarterback Troy Mitchell started talking smack to the Mocs.
"We thought they were running a little too high. We want to come out and like I said make a statement."
Reporter-"Their quarterback didn’t finish the game did he?" "No, I think they put their back-ups in. I think that was smart by them."
      (Mocs players singing Too Hype)
And the Mocs made sure they celebrated a 51-0 victory. "Told the team in there. Six years here. Best team performance by a million miles."
