Mom arrested over threat against child’s Elementary School

CLEVELAND, Tennessee (WDEF) – A Cleveland mother has been charged with making threats against her child’s school.

Blythe Bower Elementary was put on a soft lockdown today after officials got threatening phone message at the County Juvenile Center.

Police went to the woman’s home.

They say 34 year old Ashley Cochran admitted to leaving the voicemails.

But police say she didn’t actually have access to any weapons and posed no immediate threat.

She still was charged with making threats of violence and banned from Blythe Bower property.

Police said in a statement “A nationwide epidemic of violent school threats is breeding fear, anxiety and frustration for educators, children, and parents. While most of these threats are anonymous and turn out to be hoaxes, they must be investigated and taken seriously.”
