Mom and sons lose home in early morning fire

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – A mother and her two adult sons are homeless this morning because of an early morning fire in Alton Park.

It happened at 510 West 45th Street around 4 AM.

One of the son’s woke up to discover the house on fire.

He got his brother out quickly but didn’t bring their phones with them, so there was a delay calling 911.

The mother was working at the time.

By the time Chattanooga firefighters arrived, flames were shooting through the roof.

It took them about 20 minutes to get the fire under control, but the house is a total loss.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but they believe it is accidental.
