Monroe County tornado confirmed

Monroe County, TN (WDEF) –  The National Weather Service confirms there was an EF-1 tornado touch down in Monroe County Tuesday night.

It happened North West of Tellico Plains around the intersection of Gamble Gap Road and Mt. Harmony Road.

There was also straighline wind damage in Sweetwater.

The winds were estimated at 70 miles per hour.

No injuries were reported.
