More overnight roadblocks on I 24 next week
Crews will be placing new beams on replacement bridges
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) Be prepared for some major traffic backups next week overnight on I-24.
TDOT says crews will be placing new beams for the replacement bridges at South Moore and McBrien Roads.
The work will be don at night, from 9 pm til 6 am.
The first night will be on Monday, July 8 and the second night on Wednesday, July 10.
They will use rolling roadblocks through the night to manage the traffic.
Crews will have to shutdown traffic in one direction while they move the steel beams.
Every 30 minutes, they will release the backed up traffic, before continuing.
The best advice is to avoid the interstate if possible if you are driving late or early the next morning.
“These brief closures are necessary for the safety of the motoring public. ”
Of course, bad weather could force them to reschedule.
