More To The Story With Staley: Hixson toy collection
She's new to the community but an old hand at helping needy kids
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Cynthia Schoenberg owns her own business in Hixson. Her company sells air purifiers.
Cynthia is relatively new to the Chattanooga area. But her desire to help those in need, those kids in need during the holiday season remains strong.
And it’s been that way for a long time.
“Every Christmas I’ve always done something. For example, Toys For Tots, partnering with a church or even adopting families. This is our first year in Chattanooga……as a business….so I wanted to do something.”
This year, Cynthia is partnering with the Forgotten Child Fund. Collecting toys to be distributed to kids for Christmas.
She’s offering a discount for her air purifiers if people contribute to the big box. She’ll even give customers a smaller version of her product.
She says she’s passionate about kids having Christmas presents. Because she knows what it’s like to go without.
“I do have a platform, so we can even offer discounts. When I was a kid, there were a couple of Christmas Day’s when there were no toys. So I enjoy doing it. I like doing it. I really like to see kids have a normal Christmas. Or as normal as possible.”
Next weekend is the deadline for dropping off toys in the box. Giving the little ones a chance to enjoy what Santa Claus brings. A chance to enjoy the spirit of the Yuletide.
