Morning Pointe Resident Celebrates 105 Years of Life, Friendship, and History
Chattanooga TN (WDEF) Morning Pointe of East Hamilton resident Cellie Bierly has officially joined an elite club — those who have lived for more than a century. On August 7, Cellie celebrated her 105th birthday, marking more than a century of life, inspiration, and history.
Born in 1920, she has witnessed monumental changes in the world, but for Cellie, the true treasures in life are the people beside her.
“Well, I had a wonderful birthday,” Cellie said with a smile. “I had friends and their family, and we celebrated and had cake. It was a very nice day.”
Her friend Martha describes her as nothing short of remarkable.
“Always the best and buzzing,” Martha said. “She has more talents that she’s developed in those 105 years than most of us will develop in a lifetime.”
To mark the milestone, the Morning Pointe staff hosted a celebration complete with cake and a custom light blue T-shirt emblazoned with “105.”
“She cried when she received her T-shirt,” said life enrichment director Leigha King. “She wanted to know how she could repay me for it because it was unexpected. That’s just classic Cellie — so sweet and thoughtful.”
From her warm friendships to her humble gratitude, Cellie continues to inspire everyone around her.
