Morning Round-up: Stand with Orlando Vigil, Collegedale Plane Crash & Riverfront Development

Hamilton Co. (WDEF) Tennessee Valley Pride will gather for a candlelight vigil and join in solidarity with Orlando outside Chuck’s II on Main Street tonight from 8:00pm to 9:00 pm. After the vigil, Chuck’s II and Cine-Rama will open their doors to vigil attendees.

The pilot of a plane that crashed in Collegedale this weekend continues to fight for his life… as does his daughter. Todd Silver, his two children, and his mother Suzanne were aboard the plane when it crashed while coming in to the Collegedale Airport. Suzanne and one of Silver’s children died at the scene.

Hamilton County planners will review a rezoning request today that could lead to a mixed-use development near Cameron Harbor. A developer wants to build townhouses, a restaurant, and hotel on a seven-acre site at the former Newton Chevrolet location.
