Morning Round-up: Hamilton Co. Cold Case Goes to Trial & Vets Mural in Collegedale

The trial of suspected cold case killer Billy Hawk is scheduled to get underway today in Hamilton County. 27-year old Johnny Mack Salyer’s body was found inside a metal barrel in the Tennessee river back in 19-81. It took nearly 35-years to gather enough evidence to charge Hawk.

Chattanooga City Council members will discuss a disparity study during a work session today at 3pm. Tonight at 6pm, they’ll take up issuing wine licenses for 17-grocery stores for the first time.

A new mural takes shape in Collegedale honoring our nation’s veterans. Local artist Alex Loza painted the veterans memorial mural… which will be officially unveiled at 4pm today.
