Motorcyclist identified in fatal crash on Cummings Highway
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Police identified the motorcyclist who was killed in a crash on Cummings Highway.
Police were called to the scene just before 5 p.m. on Monday.
Investigators say the driver of a Yamaha motorcycle, 40-year-old Edward Nathan Denoyes, was traveling west on Cummings Highway under the I-24 overpass. They say a driver of a car was making a left turn onto Cummings Highway and was hit by Denoyes. According to police, Denoyes vaulted across the back of the vehicle and landed in the west bound lanes. He later died from his injuries.
Traffic investigators say Denoyes was speeding prior to the impact.
The case is still being investigated.

Caution tape blocked off part of the area during the investigation. At the scene there was a crashed motorcycle and car.
Witnesses say they tried to help the victim before first responders arrived.
Police have not released the name of the motorcycle rider who was killed.
