Murray County Wildfire Burns 25 Acres

CHATSWORTH, GA (WDEF) – A wildfire in Murray County that occurred early this morning has been contained.

The Murray County Fire Department and Georgia Forestry Commission sprang into action overnight to fight a fire that was burning on Old Federal Road.

The flames were spreading fast and threatening nearby homes.

Firefighters had the scene fully contained by just after 1 p.m. on December 23.

In all, nearly 25 acres burned, but no injuries are reported and no structures were damaged.
