Nearly 700 Acres Transferred to the State of Tennessee for Conservation in Grundy County
670 acres have been officially transferred to the state of Tennessee for conservation in Grundy County.
The new land will be added to the Savage Gulf State Park.
A group of conservation groups acquired the land two years ago because of it ecological significance.
This is the final step in the process of protecting it.
The land includes a mile of streams that flow into the Collins State Scenic River.
It also boasts several rare specialties including several varieties of wild orchids.
