Neighbors report explosion before Signal Mountain fire

SIGNAL MOUNTAIN, Tennessee (WDEF) – Neighbors reported an explosion at a home on Signal Mountain early Wednesday morning.

Units from Signal Mountain, Walden’s Ridge and Chattanooga all responded to the fire on Fairmount Avenue.

A neighbor told them that the resident left the scene after the explosion.

The fire destroyed the home.

The cause is under investigation.
