New Design for Tennessee Disability License Plates
Newly designed plates hit the roads in 2023
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WDEF) – A new license plate design is now available for Tennessee citizens with disabilities. They will receive a new license plate with their vehicle registration renewal this year.
The new design shares the same look and feel of the blue standard license plates that were released in 2022.
“The newly designed plate for people with disabilities features the dynamic accessibility symbol replacing the stick figure first introduced in 1974. The new symbol reflects an active, engaged person in a wheelchair with the capability of participating in all that Tennessee has to offer her citizens,” House bill sponsor Representative Darren Jernigan said.
The new look conforms with Public Chapter 761. It requires license plates for disabled persons to include the same details as the blue standard plate design.
Tennesseans may renew their license plates through local county clerk offices in person, online or by mail. For more information, click here.
