New Sheriff leads contraband sweep at Bradley County Jail

CLEVELAND, Tennessee (WDEF) – Bradley County’s new sheriff has started his tenure with a contraband sweep of the jail.
County, city and Highway Patrol officers all took part in the sweep on Saturday afternoon.
Sheriff Steve Lawson says they seized razors, a shank, medication, matches, lighters, a case of homemade alcohol and a tattoo gun.
The District Attorney will review the evidence for possible charges.
Sheriff Lawson promised in the campaign to better secure the jail for the protection of corrections officers and the inmates, themselves.
