Next round of Hamilton County school projects set to be approved

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF)- The next round of school maintenance projects is set to be approved in Hamilton County.

These are the fourth round of projects from last year’s two hundred and 50 million bond issue.

Some of the projects include a new turf field at Central High School and maintenance at CSAS.

Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp said that the projects have been overall on time and under projected cost, and discussed the amount of H-VAC work that’s been done.

Mayor Wamp said, “A million square feet just over the summer was addressed based on funds allocated by this body. Again, while it’s fun to focus on the playgrounds and some of these quality of life investments that have implications beyond the school system… We’ve all been impressed at how far we have gotten the funds to go. The amount of schools, the amount of square footage that has been addressed.”

The Hamilton County Commission will vote to approve this phase of projects next week.
