Lane Closure

MGN

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) —  Drivers on I-24 in Hamilton County should prepare for overnight lane closures starting January 14, 2025, as utility crews work on the interstate lighting system.

The closures will affect the inside lane between mile markers 177 (Moccasin Bend) and 183 (Germantown Road) from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. ET each night through Friday morning, January 17, 2025.

According to TDOT, the lane closures will alternate directions, with work occurring on one side of the interstate per night.

Motorists should expect delays, follow posted signage, and exercise caution while traveling through the area.

Uniformed police officers will assist with traffic control.

This work is weather-dependent.

If inclement weather or unexpected circumstances arise, the schedule may be adjusted.

To stay informed, drivers are encouraged to check traffic conditions via the TDOT SmartWay Map, call 511 for updates, and plan ahead.

As always, avoid distractions like texting or calling while driving.
