Niko Goodrum Collects Five RBI’s as Lookouts Blank M-Braves 13-0
(lookouts.com) CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Niko Goodrum drove in five runs, while D.J. Hicks and Stuart Turner drove in three apiece as the Chattanooga Lookouts beat the Mississippi Braves 13-0 on Monday.
Goodrum was a triple short of the cycle, driving in five runs.
In the bottom of the first, Chattanooga scored five runs, including a two-run single by Hicks. The Lookouts then added four runs in both the seventh and eighth innings. In the seventh, Goodrum hit a three-run home run, while Goodrum hit an RBI single and T.J. White hit an RBI double in the eighth.
Chattanooga starter Randy LeBlanc (1-0) picked up the win after allowing five hits over seven scoreless innings. Opposing starter Michael Mader (0-3) took the loss in the Southern League game after allowing five runs and five hits over five innings.
The Braves were held off the scoreboard for the ninth time this season, while the Lookouts’ staff recorded their 10th shutout of the year.
