No Injuries reported in overnight House Fire

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga firefighters responded to a house fire at 1808 Orchard Knob Avenue early Sunday morning.

The initial call came in around 1:30 a.m.

When crews arrived on scene, Lt. Alex Cole with Engine 5 said smoke and fire could be seen coming from a second floor window.

After a primary search to confirm that no one was inside the structure, firefighters with six fire companies worked to put out the blaze.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire in about 20 minutes, and no injuries were reported.

The house was unoccupied at the time of the fire, and the owners of the property arrived a short time later.

The homeowners told firefighters that they had just purchased the house and were planning on remodeling it.

Damages to the home are estimated at $20,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
