No matter how cold, the Union Gospel Mission still serving Friday

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The frigid weather won’t stop the Union Gospel Mission from serving their Christmas dinners on Friday.

They will be serving the homeless at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center from 11 AM to 1 PM.

And they need some volunteers to help them out.

They will be serving meals and distribute cold weather clothing.

“With the colder temperatures coming into the Tennessee Valley, the Union Gospel Mission has had an increased need for blankets, gloves, hats, and hand warmers,” states Executive Director Rev. Jon Rector. “Neighbors can drop these items off any time during our Christmas meal feeding to the Bessie Smith Cultural Center, located at 200 East Martin Luther King Blvd.”

You can support their mission at

or by mail to PO Box 983, Chattanooga, TN, 37401.

The Mission will also accept gift cards to Walmart and Food City.
