Nokian Tyres creates nearly 150 new jobs at Dayton Tennessee Plant

Dayton, TN (WDEF) – Nokian Tyres plans to double production at their Dayton Plant. The company is also creating nearly 150 jobs to their team. The jobs will be fore 3rd and 4th shifts in response to high demand.

The company plans to produce as many as 1 million tires at the Dayton Factory this year alone.

Nokian Tyres’ President and CEO Jukka Moisio says “The demand for our premium tires is rising also in North America, and we are proud to offer products that are tailored to fit the needs of drivers in the region. We are advancing with our growth plans and offer a versatile range of tires for demanding conditions. Last year we launched a record number of new products globally, and we will reach a new record in 2021.”

Nokian started its third production shift the week of May 17th. The fourth shift will start in mid-July.

Tire production started at the Dayton factory in January 2020.
