North Chattanooga family home lost after being consumed by house fire
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A family in North Chattanooga lost everything in a house fire Thursday morning.
Crews with the Chattanooga Fire Department (CFD) were dispatched at 7:24 a.m. to the 300 block of Druid Lane for a residential fire.
According to CFD, the resident was awoken by her barking dog, alerting her of the fire.
She was able to get herself and her child out of the house, and were met with neighbors ready to help.
Upon arrival, crews found the house fully engulfed in flames.
Crews immediately began working to extinguish the flames, but were met with narrow streets, tight spaces, and a very steep grade.
By 8:22 a.m., crews had the fire under control.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
