North Georgia man indicted for vehicular homicide

DALTON, Georgia(WDEF) – A Chatsworth man is facing one count of second degree vehicular homicide in connection to a crash that happened in Whitfield County last year.

Joseph Wheat, 21, was booked into the Whitfield County Jail Friday morning after a grand jury indicted him for vehicular homicide.

According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report obtained by News 12, on back in September of last year, Wheat was traveling in the wrong direction on Airport Road when he collided head on into another car.

Bobby Weaver, 80, was the driver of the other vehicle who died as a result of that crash.

Wheat was transported to Erlanger where he was treated in the Intensive Care Unit.
