North Murray’s Ladd McConkey Enjoyed Break Out Season For Georgia

Chatsworth, GA-(WDEF-TV) Georgia receiver Ladd McConkey returned to his hometown of Chatsworth over the weekend for an autograph session. Fellow Dawgs receiver Kearis Jackson tagged along with him. McConkey enjoyed an outstanding high school career at North Murray, and it seems he’s determined to match that success with the Bulldogs.

Ladd McConkey did not arrive with much fanfare at Georgia, but he sensed his time was coming.
Said McConkey:”I think that really goes back to practice. I mean I’m competing against the number one team in the nation every single day, so if I know I can do it against them, I have the confidence in my teammates that I can do it against anybody.”
Said Jackson:”If I had to use one word to describe Ladd, it would be a go-getter. And he started out on scout team at first and turned people’s heads with the way he was out there making plays, and it translated over.”
It sure did translate. McConkey finished the year with 31 catches, second most on the team.
Said McConkey:”I mean it’s something I always believed in myself that I could do. I just got the opportunity and made the best of it and went from there.”
Georgia made the best of 2021 with the national title.
Said McConkey:”Just to see the joy of all my teammates and all my coaches. Like I said the hard work we put in that no one sees. To be able to go out there and have it all pay off and get it done like that was an awesome experience.”
Hard signing autographs with a big bling ring. Maybe it’ll be even harder for defenses to stop Mcconkey next season.
Said McConkey:”Any receiver wants a thousand yards, but that’s a hard goal to achieve. If it happens, it happens. I think my main goal and all of my other teammates main goal is to win. Winning takes care of everything, so if you can do that, you know you are going to be successful. That’s all we can really ask for.”
Said Jackson:”You can see he made a lot of explosive plays for us last year for the Dawgs. I’m so excited for this upcoming season for him because one more breakout season, and Ladd’s in the NFL. I’m excited for him, and we’re going to get the job done.”>
