Northwest soars, Heritage falls in schools’ first final four appearances

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Two North Georgia volleyball teams made their first ever state final four appearances Saturday.

Northwest Whitfield traveled to Jefferson County, defeating the Dragons 3-1. Lady Bruins head to their first ever state championship Saturday in Cartersville to play Marist at 2:30 p.m.

Marist defeated Heritage on the Generals home court, 3-0. Heritage got behind quickly in the first two sets, falling 25-17 and 25-14. However, after the break, the Generals took a commanding 5-point lead in the third set. Marist powered back to win, 25-21.
