Nude couple facing multiple felony charges after violent arrest

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee (WDEF) –  A married couple is in serious legal trouble after the two were caught nude following an alleged violent assault.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by News 12, Wendy and Jimmy Holdbrooks, both 43 are facing multiple felony charges and are both wanted fugitives out of Georgia.

The case against the couple began Wednesday evening when when Hamilton County sheriff deputies were called to investigate a disorder at the Mapco convenience store in the 8600 block of North Hickory Valley Road.

Two alleged victims told police they were assaulted by a man at a nearby boat ramp in the 5400 block of Vincent Road.

According to the arrest affidavit, the assault began when the two alleged victims called out Jimmy Holdbrooks and asked if a flotation device they found was his property.  The victims told deputies, Holdbrooks became belligerent and started a verbal argument. According to the affidavit, Holdbrooks punched the male victim in the head then pulled out knife and threatened both victims.

The two victims told deputies, they got into their vehicle and drove away, but Holdbrooks managed to break the rear right side window of their vehicle as they drove off. They also told deputies that Holdbrooks was driving an older model black Ford F-150 with a silver toolbox.

Deputies later located the suspect’s truck at the boat ramp where the assault allegedly happened.

As deputies approached the water,they found Jimmy Holdbrooks and his wife Wendy both swimming nude in the lake and detained them for questioning as well as indecent exposure.

When deputies ran background check on Jimmy Holdbrooks, they discovered he had an active felony warrant out of Georgia which was verified.

According to the arrest affidavit, Wendy Holdbrooks gave deputies a fake name, date of birth ,and social security number that actually belonged to a woman in Georgia who had been the victim of identity theft.

Deputies later used fingerprint identification to confirm Wendy Holdbrooks was not only using another woman’s identity and social security number, but also had an outstanding warrant for her arrest in Georgia as well.

The couple was officially arrested later in the evening but during transport to the jail, Jimmy Holdbrooks reportedly told a deputy,”You and your partner better get out while you can or what happened in Dallas, Louisiana and Minnesota will happen to you.”

According to the arrest affidavit, after Jimmy Holdbrooks was positively identified by the alleged victims, he reportedly threatened to kill the arresting deputies and even tried to escape custody by kicking the squad car doors, glass and ceiling.

According to the arresting deputies, Jimmy holdbrooks somehow managed to move his handcuffs from behind him to the front of his body before pulling a right radar transmitter off the rear window and striking it against the plexiglass divider of the police vehicle.

In addition to criminal charges out of Georgia, Jimmy Holdbrooks is facing charges in Hamilton County that include:

  • AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
  • INDECENT EXPOSURE
  • PUBLIC INTOXICATION
  • RESISTING ARREST OR OBSTRUCTION OF LEGAL PROCESS
  • RETALIATION AGAINST JUDGE, JUROR, OFFICER
  • RETALIATION AGAINST JUDGE, JUROR, OFFICER
  • ESCAPE
  • VANDALISM/MALICIOUS MISCHIEF
  • VANDALISM/MALICIOUS MISCHIEF
  • ASSAULT
  • ASSAULT

Wendy Holdbrooks is also facing a criminal charge out of Georgia and charges in Hamilton County that include:

  • INDECENT EXPOSURE
  • FALSE REPORTS
  • THEFT OF IDENTITY
  • CRIMINAL IMPERSONATION
