Ober Gatlinburg to reopen ski and snowboard slopes

GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WDEF) — With the recent heatwave, Ober Gatlinburg, Tennessee’s only Ski and Snowboard Area, announced to reopen January 28, 2017 at 11 a.m.

Ober Gatlinburg Snowmakers were busy Thursday night, January 26th, and continued to make snow since.

Cub Way, Castle Run and Ski School opens at 11 a.m. with a 10”-15” base.

Snow is also being made on Mogul Ridge and will reopen once there is a sufficient amount of snow.

The new Magic Carpet on the Ski School slope is Ober Gatlinburg’s latest addition to ease new participants into the sports of Skiing and Snowboarding.

Ober Gatlinburg is proud to announce that last year, 7,400 lbs. of food donations were presented to the Sevier County Food Ministry by College Night and Ladies Night participants.
