UPDATE: Police confirm meth was found at Nolan Elementary

SIGNAL MOUNTAIN, Tenn. (WDEF) – Meth was found inside Nolan Elementary School on Friday.

Signal Mountain Police Detective Jim Tizzio said everyone is okay after a student found a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine inside the school.

According to authorities, the bag was found in the library on a shelf.

The substance was found in a sandwich baggie wrapped in a paper towel.

A Chattanooga Police K-9 combed the area for other drugs.

Detectives are still trying to figure out how it got inside the school and who brought it on campus, but said everyone is safe.

“We had a student who located it and brought it to a teacher.  They were looked at by EMS and everything, and everybody was okay,” Det. Tizzio said.

No arrests have been made.

Authorities are still investigating the incident.
