Officials searching for missing kayaker in Polk County

2 PM Update: Officials from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources add a few more details on the case.

The 68-year-old fisherman is from Polk County. His kayak, life jacket and a creek bucket with fish have been recovered on Ocoee #3 Lake in the Tumbling Creek area.

Crews are using a side scanner to search in water that is about 25 feet deep.

POLK COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – Crews are searching for a missing kayaker in Polk County.

Family members reported the man missing Sunday morning from Tumbling Creek.

Personnel from several different agencies including the sheriff’s Office, East Polk and West Polk Fire and rescue are participating in the search.

They found the boat, but are still looking for the boater.
