CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – This evening around 6p.m., an off-duty Chattanooga Police officer, who lived in the neighborhood, called 911 reporting a residential structure fire in the 6400 block of Rosemary Drive.

According to Chattanooga Fire Department, when crews arrived, they reported heavy smoke showing from the garage of the residence.

Together they pulled an attack line and began to set up their aerial to the roof and throw ground ladders around the structure.

They laid a supply line to the closest hydrant and used rotary saws to gain access through the front of the garage door.

First responders made entry through the garage and were able to get water to the seat of the fire as other crews gained access through the rear.

Before Chattanooga Fire Department’s arrival, one adult and two children were able to safely escape the residence without injuries.

A thorough search was done, ensuring all parties were out.

The fire was brought under control, and the damage was limited to the garage portion of the home.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
