One dead after McMinn County fatal crash

MCMINN COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) —  One is dead and another injured after a car accident in McMinn County this morning.

The Athens Police Department (APD) responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on John J. Duncan Parkway.

Upon arrival, officers found a two-vehicle collision involving a Ford F-150 and a Ford Fusion.

According to APD, the driver of the F-150 was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Unfortunately, the driver of the Ford Fusion, 21-year-old Athalie Cleminte was pronounced dead on scene.

APD also stated it appears Cleminte crossed the center line and struck the F-150.

No charges are pending at this time.
