One Dead After Multi-State Police Chase Saturday Night

Hamilton County, TN (WDEF) – One person is dead and another is in custody after a Saturday night chase from Georgia into Chattanooga.

Supects in a Hyundai Sonata reportedly fired shots at the Georgia State Patrol and the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

The chase ended when the Sonota crashed on Highway 153 near Boy Scout Road.

Hamilton County EMS took the driver, a 27 year old man, to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Chattanooga Police and Hamilton County Deputies later caught a second person who was in that car.

No official word yet on their names,

The Georgia State Patrol is the lead agency in the pursuit and shooting investigation.
