Ooltewah fire causes temporary road closure
OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (WDEF) — Part of a road in Ooltewah was shut down early Wednesday due to a wildfire.
The brush fire was near the 5500 block of Tucker Road, which authorities closed down temporarily.
However, it has now completely reopened.
The Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department said they had the fire under control and contained to one acre.
There was no threat to any buildings nearby, and no one was injured.
Fire crews also want to remind the public that Wednesday is a “no burn day,” according to the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Bureau.
Firefighters said there is an increased risk of fires spreading rapidly due to the ongoing drought.
