Ooltewah Football Coach Mac Bryan Resigns
Ooltewah, TN-(WDEF) Ooltewah head football coach Mac Bryan resigned on Monday after coaching the Owls for the last five seasons.
Bryan posted a 45-16 record during his tenure with Ooltewah, and he led the Owls to the state playoffs every single season.
Bryan is leaving Ooltewah to take the head coaching job at Avery County High School in North Carolina, which is close to home.
Said Bryan:”I’ve got a chance to go back to North Carolina. To the mountains. Basically where I’m from. About 60 miles away from my mom. Go back in the mountains there. I spent five years at Appalachain State when I played and coached there.”
Said Owls center Brandon Davis:”I was a little upset. I was sad. I’ve been with him for four years now. So it was upsetting to me and really sad. Just crazy. Kind of hits you all at once.”>
