Ooltewah High School vs. Riverdale High School highlights

Ooltewah, TN (WDEF) – One of the top match-ups in the state went down in the Owls nest at Ooltewah.

The Owls versus Riverdale.

Ooltewah is ranked fifth in Class 5-A, and they opened the season by entertaining Riverdale, who is ranked fourth in Class 6-A.

Ooltewah’s calling card this year is defense, and we got to see it early on.

Warriors Quarterback Brandon Bea wants to throw the football, but Jeremiah Jackson and Tyler Reid take him down for the sack.

Owls force the punt, and the force was with them.

Adrian Hall blows in for the block.

Then during the celebration Hall gets blocked by one of his teammates.

Riverdale got a safety on a bad punt snap.

On the free kick, the Warriors’ Brandon Summerville breaks containment and returns it into Owls territory.

3rd and 16 for the Warriors, Bea going for the endzone, and what a catch by Gentry Bonds, between two defenders, 34 yards for the score.

That made it 9 – 0.

On the ensuing kickoff, that ominous sports highlight phrase, Scottie Strickland having some issues, but once he picks it up he makes the magic happen.

Strickland dodges the kicker, he goes 73 yards before he’s taken down at the 7.

Owls forced to kick a field goal, and Alex Toser kicks it home.

Final score Riverdale 9 and Ooltewah 5.
