UPDATE: Name Released of Orange Grove Resident Found Dead in Vehicle

UPDATE: CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Police have identified the Orange Grove resident whose death is under investigation.

On Tuesday afternoon an employee discovered the body of  60-yeaar-old Carrie Parkey in an Orange Grove van. It was parked in front of the group home on the 3500 block of Lillian Court, where he lived.

Orange Grove is an organization that helps people with disabilities. Parkey was one of eight people who lived in the home. Employees alerted police about the death.

“We are trying to determine the cause or what led up to that. So we are investigating Orange Grove and its employees are speaking with officers,” said Elisa Myzal, a communications coordinator with the Chattanooga Police Department.

Officials say they don’t believe the death is suspicious.

“It is very early in the investigation so it is too early to say. But right now it is not believed to be of criminal nature or foul play,” Myzal said.

Both state and local agencies are investigating the death.
