Outsourcing State Jobs

Democratic State Lawmakers fight back against a plan to outsource state jobs.
They took that battle to the U.T.C. campus today.
Senate Minority Leader Lee Harris joined State Representatives John Ray Clemmons and JoAnne Favors for a public hearing.
That comes after Governor Bill Haslam proposed outsourcing state jobs in favor of corporate contractors.
That could affect jobs at State Universities, the state parks, corrections facilities and National Guard Armories.
Representative Clemmons is a Democrat from Nashville.
"Privatization is a big issue and a big concern to a lot of state employees; campus workers across the state of Tennessee. Both urban and rural areas will be affected by this decision, and so Senator Harris and I just want to get to the bottom of it."
Governor Haslam says he has not made a decision yet on outsourcing jobs.
