Parents relieved after man accused of exposing himself was arrested
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Parents have some relief in knowing that a man who is accused of exposing himself to kids has been arrested.
“I’m great. I’m grateful that they caught him,” Doris Chubb said.
According to the Dade County Sheriff’s Office, Thomas Wooten was apprehended Friday evening in Dade County.
Wooten is suspected to be linked to cases where a man was going to neighborhoods and exposing himself and targeting children, like Doris Chubb’s 6-year-old daughter.
“They took off running and came home and told me that he exposed himself. So I immediately came outside and I looked around to see if I could see him, but I never seen him. So probably a couple of days later, maybe a week later he rolled back in and asked one of them to get in the car with them,” Chubb said.
Police said four incidents had been reported since March.
In two incidents a man allegedly tried to get kids in his truck and in the others he reportedly exposed himself.
Those incidents happened on 12th street, Sholar Avenue, 13th Avenue and Ochs Highway.
“I feel relieved,” Jonathan Berestecky said.
Sarah and Johnathan Berestecky have kids and live in the neighborhood.
“Very relieved that he’s been caught. I feel like this has been going on for months and nobody has been able to find him. So I feel very relieved,” Sarah Berestecky said.
Though an arrest has been made, parents said they are going to continue to be vigilant.
