Park Rangers thank the public for support during shutdown
FORT OGLETHORPE, Georgia (WDEF) – Employees at the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park are glad to be back at work.
During the partial government shutdown, two visitor centers at Chickamauga Battlefield and up on Lookout Mountain were closed.
Roads and trails still stayed open.
Park officials say they’re grateful for the support they received from the community during the partial government shutdown.
“I really want to thank all the outpouring of compassion and generosity we received during the shutdown. The community was very supportive and we certainly appreciate that.”
Officials say the Park might be closed again tomorrow due to the weather.
