Parvo Puts the Walker Co. Animal Shelter on Quarantine

Walker Co. (WDEF) An outbreak of Parvo puts the Walker County Animal Shelter on quarantine.

47 dogs that weren’t on a stray hold were transported to pet rescues in the Atlanta area before the quarantine began.

Now, no dogs will be allowed in or out of the shelter until the quarantine period expires near the end of the month.

The Walker County Animal Shelter also experienced a Parvo outbreak back in 2013.

Shelter officials say Parvo is a preventable infection through vaccination.
