Pat Summitt Foundation hosts weekend of giving
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — This year will mark a decade since legendary Lady Vols coach Pat Summitt passed away.
The Pat Summitt Foundation is hosting a weekend of giving to encourage donations and raise awareness of the disease that claimed her life.
Alzheimer’s disease research has progressed rapidly in the last ten years, thanks in part to the research funded by the Pat Summitt Foundation.
They want to encourage awareness and early prevention of the disease which has claimed so many.
Executive director of the Pat Summitt Foundation, Morgan Vance told us, “The point is yes to raise funds for the foundation to honor coach Summitt and then to make a difference in the disease. So to fund the work that we are continuing to do and we hope that when they give that they’ll share that with their friends and their family invite others to join us as well.”
Pat Summitt was head coach of the Lady Vols basketball team from the 1970’s to 2012. She passed in 2016 at the age of 64. You can make a donation at patsummitt.org
