Paw Palooza takes over Coolidge Park for a day of furry fun

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga went to the dogs this weekend — all for a good cause.

Paw Palooza, hosted by the McKamey Animal Center, brought hundreds of pet lovers and their furry friends together for a full day of fun at Coolidge Park.

The annual event raises money to support thousands of animals in the center’s care.

The park was packed with activities — from agility courses for the pups to live music, food trucks, and pet contests.

Local businesses also showed up in full force. Vendors sold everything from handmade bandannas and collars to gourmet pet treats, while local boarding facilities and doggy daycares came out to share their services.

Even the Chattanooga Zoo joined in on the occasion, making it a fun‑filled day for the whole family.

Claire Bartlett, Director of Advancement, shared:

“It’s just amazing. I mean, it’s just an amazing community event that happens every year. So many people just pop in and out—people who plan to come here. Such a wonderful event to come to, to gather and bring your pups!”

The event wasn’t just about shopping and fun. It also helped connect rescue animals with new families through on-site adoptions.

With this year’s turnout, everyone seems eager and already looking ahead to next year’s event.
