Pedestrian killed in Hixson this morning

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – A woman died this morning while trying to cross Highway 153 near Northgate Mall.

Police say the driver who hit the woman stopped and is cooperating with investigators.

Several lanes were blocked as investigators re-created the scene.

No charges against the driver are expected at this time.

The name of the victim has not been released.
