CATOOSA COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — Georgia state troopers are investigating an early morning crash that killed a pedestrian.

It happened shortly after 5 a.m. Saturday on I-75 South near the Whitfield County/Catoosa County line.

Troopers say a Mazda 3 sedan was driving south on the interstate, when it left the road and struck Michael Nease of Kennesaw, Georgia, who was walking along the road.

After hitting the 27-year-old, the car hit a guardrail, overturned, and landed back on its tires.

The man and woman in the car were treated and released from Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton.
