Pedestrian struck and killed on North Lee Hwy

BRADLEY COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Bradley County authorities say no charges will be filed after a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on North Lee Highway.

The man that was killed was identified by the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office as 29-year-old Jesse Lee Burchett of Chattanooga.

Officers could be seen out near the Willies restaurant early Sunday morning.

Officials concluded that the man was walking in the road in what officials describe as a very dark area when he was hit.

The incident closed a portion of the highway and was later reopened around 2 a.m. this morning.
